Restoration works from 1987 to 1998

The Arengario , Monza's City Hall, has been built between the fourth and sixth decade of the 1200s, and shares significant structural and stylistic similarities with Milan's Broletto.
In the fourteenth century were added the tower on the north's side and the loggia of the "parlera ." Between 1881 and 1913 the place underwent  big interventions, especially with regard to the main prospects . During the last century three major restorations were carried out.
In 1966-67 the living room has been converted into an exhibition hall and museum. In the early eighties , given the high state of disrepair , it was decided to proceed with a proper restoration . In 1987-88 , work has been focused on the tower , with particular attention to the belfry and the spire , and the hall on the first floor  has been upgraded with the actual safety standards . Since 1997 works focused on the conservative restoration of the walls surfaces, of lithoid ones,  and on a further consolidation of the “parlera”, as well as the restoration of the wooden ceiling of the porch.
